Simone de Waart
Meeting Materials Workshop Simone de
Waart (1967) graduated in 1994 at Design Academy Eindhoven. In 1997, together
with a partner she started the designstudio Loods 5. As designer-director she
developed new materials and material applications and works for clients as DSM,
architects, and NS. She’s part-time lecturer at Technical University Eindhoven,
at the faculty of Industrial Design and
a guest lecturer at Design academy, HAS food design and School for product
design Utrecht. In 2001 she
initiated Eindhoven Materials Library for TU/e and Design Academy for students
and professionals. She has founded the international network Material Sense, to
connect designers, research and industry enhancing materials creativity and
innovative materials applications. In international travelling exhibitions she
curates and represents the network, and lectured on materials developments in Belgium,
Denmark, Brasil, Korea and China. Her work is published in books like Future
Materials, Material World, High Tec Low Tec, De Architect and Transmaterial. |
